It is our intention to provide opportunities for people to gather in homes outside of our Sunday morning service and to commence in May 2026. The purpose of these “Connect Groups” is to assist people in making meaningful connections with God and others.
In a recent Zoom meeting, the following thoughts were presented and discussed.
1. Groups to meet fortnightly in rotating homes during school terms.
2. Groups would meet for 6 months then be reviewed.
3. Groups could consider engaging in the following activities. Red is mandatory.
a. Bible study, a book study, readings to be completed prior to the gathering to assist in good conversations and wrestling with challenging topics/thoughts
b. Prayer and possibly worship
c. A meal or light refreshments around a table, bring something to share
d. Pastoral care
e. Communion
f. Community action, intentional acts of kindness, opportunities to serve together.
4. Groups can meet any day, time, but capped at 2 hours.
5. Groups can reflect the generations, kids, married, singles, etc..
6. Groups to facilitate friendships, life giving conversations that build up and encourage spiritual growth.
7. Groups to have between 6 and 10 people.
8. Groups to assign a point person for connection with staff
9. Groups to be inclusive and attendees to be considerate of others.
