Welcome to Camden Valley Church
We’re glad that you’ve connected and look forward to getting to know you
“Christian community is the place where we keep
the flame of hope alive among us and take it seriously
so that it can grow and become stronger in us.”
In our highly “connected” world, it is still possible to be isolated and unknown, especially with the current world situation. We value doing life together and providing ways for people to connect with God and each other.
Even though it is so challenging to achieve at the moment, we are working on ways to support and care for each other and our wider community. You’re invited to join us on the journey of being transformed by Jesus and sharing that experience with others.

Are you a fan or a follower?
“As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ 18 At once they left their nets and followed him.”
Mark 1:16-18 NIVUK
The word Christian has become debased and misunderstood in modern society. It was originally used at Antioch to describe Christ’s first followers. (Acts 11:26) It literally meant “little Christ’s”. But now it is used in a range of ways from “a good person” to a “narrow minded hypocrite” and everything in between.
For this reason, I often prefer the term “Christ-follower”. It is a better reflection of the original call of Jesus to his first disciples. To be clear, he didn’t just ask them to follow his teaching but to follow him. Before and after his death and resurrection they followed him.
In our social media world it is easy to “like” Jesus or be a “fan”. But how will our lives be different if we truly follow him? What will we need to leave behind and what adventures will unfold for us? Join us on Sunday as we explore this theme.

Reflections on life and faith.
Some of Jesus’ most memorable words are his commandment to love others. John puts it like this: ” ‘A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’” John 13:34-35 NIV These …
God is in the construction business. It’s a Father and Son affair. But they are not interested in bricks and mortar. Their focus is on people. As a Christian community we don’t meet “in the house of God”. We “are the house of God”. The Spirit of Jesus is building us together as a household …
Jesus shared our humanity, embracing death to free us from the fear of death. “In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made …
