This week we have a worship night this Sunday, a Visitors and Friends Lunch and a visit from a junior lady!

Next Monday (27th May), our Daily Bible Study, Foundations 260, will be up to Day 106 and starting the book of Jonah.

This Sunday (26th May) there will be an additional worship service at 7pm at the home of Kevin and Faith, Macarthur Rd, Elderslie (directly opposite the entrance to Mawarra School).  

Secondly, book in Sunday June 16th, when Steve Hutchings will speak at our Service. Following the Service there will be a lunch for partners of the Hutchings at the new Exploring Tree Cobbitty at 1pm.

If you plan to go, it is essential you RSVP to your invitation. 

Finally our next Visitors and Friends Lunch will be on June 9th at Jeremy and Beths home.

Our senior ladies, including Sue, Carol, Pam and Elaine (who could not make it this month), meet monthly and this month were visited by a junior lady.

Unfortunately this bible study has been cancelled.

Our next M.A.N. night will be August 2nd.

The cost  is $10 on the night, and the venue is Kevin and Faiths home in Macarthur Road, Elderslie,  opposite the entrance to Mawarra School.

Praise God for

• The global Church and our church
• Our town.
• The support we receive in many ways, such as friends, family and emergency personnel.
• Those people and agencies around the world working to bring greater justice, fairness and humanitarian aid to the world's trouble spots.

Pray for

• Survivors of domestic violence using a prayer from Common Grace here.
• People who have caught RSV, Covid or pneumonia following an upsurge lately.
• Reconcillation Week (May 27 to June 3).
• Warring parties around our world particularly in Ukraine and Gaza.
  In Gaza pray for the hostages that have been captive for more than 7 months and those under threat in the latest military actions. Pray for the international effort that tries to bring peace to this area.
  In Ukraine, pray for those that flee from their homes into an unknown future and those that stay to defend. Pray the imminent offensive against Kharkiv can be overted. Pray for Russia to de-escalate its military position.
• Tornado victims in Idaho, USA and the family of the deceased passenger and other injured passengers on the Singapore Airline flight that hit severe turbulence this week. 
• The upheaval and unrest in New Caledonia.
• Steve, Nat and family on furlough. Also, in the village, pray for healing from illnesses, thankfulness for new life, security concerns and problems with supply lines.
• Albert and Lynne Castelijn and the work they are doing as they are back with the Banwaon people.
• Those preparing for the Alpha course in Term 3 and for those who will be invited to participate.
• Healing and recovery for congregation members who are sick or recovering from illness.
• Wisdom and guidance for our church and our leaders and also for our Local, State and Federal leaders.

This event replaces our usual morning service.

There will be an opportunity to donate to the Sisters of Mary, which will be instead of a donation at our Christmas service.

The event will be held at the home and Kevin and Faith, Macarthur Road, Elderslie - directly across the road from the entrance to Mawarra School.

Our Visitors and Friends Lunch is an opportunity for those new to our church to meet and connect with others in our community in a relaxed and informal atmoshphere.

The next Lunch will be on Sunday June 9th at the home of Jeremy and Beth in Glen Alpine.

CV Church, in partnership with Exploring Tree, will be hosting the Alpha program in Term 3.

The Alpha course is an evangelistic course which seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions.

The evening is designed around a dinner meal, video and discussion.

It will be be presented on Sunday evenings, at Exploring Tree Macarthur.
