Helping you better connect with Camden Valley Church

Thank you to those who particpated in our first survey question in the previous newsletter. It showed that over 70% of respondents have visited the website in the past month. If you feel something is missing or could be improved, let me know.

Our Alpha course will be starting on the 4th of May so you have a few weeks to consider who you might invite or what role you might play in this important outreach.

Don't forget, you can support the Hutchings in a simpe practical way - see below.

If you have had any inspirational thoughts regarding our Kids Pastor position, it is still open. You can direct a potential candidate to our social media campaign or to the advert on christianjobs.com.au (even though you can no longer apply through their website).

Due to forecasted bad weather, our Big Day In will be 'In' (see below) but we would still like to see your smiling faces :).

The film/TV series "The Chosen" is about to debut Season 5 next month. This series is a highly acclaimed production about the life of Jesus. Screenings are at both Narellan and Campbelltown cinemas.

Don't forget you can always see what's coming up in the life of our church on the website's Church Calendar.

Staff contact details and Ways to Give to our church.

Big Day In

Big Day In

Sunday, March 30, 2025

Our next Big Day In event is tommorrow (March 30) for a Church picnic. This event replaces our usual morning service.

Due to the threat of bad weather we will be meeting at Mawarra School Hall, rather than at The Sisters of Mary property.

This is a perfect time to relax and connect with fellow members of our congregation.

Please join us from 10am. We are aiming to eat at 11am and conclude at 12:30pm. Bring your own lunch and we will have BBQ facilities available also.

There will be a movie for the kids and toys for the little ones as well.

We are looking forward to seeing you there!

How you can earn for the Hutchings

If you would like an easy way to earn some very helpful pocket money for Steve and Nat here is a great suggestion.

Drop off your empty bottles and cans at church each week into the blue crate under the COLA and Sue will drop them to the Return and Earn program.

If you have a large load and need some assistance with a pick up, speak to Sue or contact her on 0401396761.

The eligible containers are shown below.

The money raised goes towards the cost of transporting the family’s groceries from town to their tribal village via helicopter. With growing kids and fuel prices rising this is an ever increasing cost and something they can't do without.

A huge thank you to those who regularly support this ministry with their contributions.

Over the past 6 years this has raised nearly $12,000 - a fantastic result for such a simple scheme.

Daily Bible Study

Daily Bible Study

The suggested Daily Bible Study for 2025 is from Got Questions.

This is available as an app for Apple and Android phones and also as a website.

Follow the link below to learn more and see some sample questions and answers.

Also, you may have heard several people refer to 'Lectio' over the past few months.

Lectio 365 is a free app (Apple and Android) that is a daily devotional to help you pause in the presence of God.

It is written (and vocalised) by leaders of the 24-7 Prayer movement. Their website is https://www.24-7prayer.com.

With Lectio 365 you pray the Bible by meditating on the scriptures and asking God to speak through them.
