Community Engagement

This year, CVC’s Community Engagement Team facilitated the following:

Engagement with Mawarra P.S Community

Breakfast Club: 100 -150 students enjoyed being served toast and cereal each Wednesday morning of school terms, with a special breakfasts eg. sausage sandwiches, pancakes for the last week of term. We appreciate the sponsorship of Bakers Delight, Camden and the Camden Fruit Barn.
Fete: A team of 14 CVC volunteers assisted on the BBQ stall at Mawarra P.S P & C fete in October.

A strong rapport has been built with the Principal and staff at the school who greatly appreciate our service. It is hoped in the future to establish an after-school Kids Club at Mawarra P.S.

Annual local appeal

An appeal for donations will be conducted as part of the Carols Service in December with funds directed to a local charity, as determined by the CE team.

Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

37 gift-filled boxes were donated by CVC attendees for children in need internationally, witnessing to God’s love and giving them the opportunity to hear the Good News.

Australia Day Community Prayer Service

Doug Ferris, who has led this event in recent years, has sought our CE team’s support. We have been liaising with Camden Council to secure permission for the prayer service to go ahead in 2026. If it can go ahead, we will seek involvement from a range of other local churches.

My thanks to :

  • The rest of the CE Team – Renae Howard, Michelle Toms, Michael Stapleton, Jeremy Hodson.
  • The other Breakfast Club Volunteers – Jeremy Hodson, Renae Howard, Michael Stapleton, Peter Norris, Lucy Wood.
  • BBQ volunteers - all 14 of them!
  • And to CVC congregation members for their generous support of CVC’s Community Engagement.

CV Kids Ministry

It has been a privilege to continue witnessing the children within our Kids Ministry grow in their connection with God and with one another.

Our primary school-aged program has developed a wonderful core group of around 15–20 children who engage regularly each week. This year, the kids have enjoyed learning from the Faith in Kids curriculum, exploring themes such as Meals with Jesus, Nehemiah, and Tackling Emotions through the Psalms.

We have continued the model of having children join the main service on the first Sunday of each month. This includes a special kids’ story, followed by communion and a combined time of kids’ worship -  a meaningful opportunity for children to feel part of the wider church family.

With the support of our newly appointed Associate Pastor, Mandy, I am hopeful that this next season will see the establishment of a strong and committed Children’s Ministry team to nurture and support our children’s ongoing spiritual journey. I am deeply thankful for our dedicated volunteers and wider church community who have faithfully supported this ministry throughout the year.

Thank You for a Remarkable Year

As we reflect on the past year at Camden Valley Church, I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our church council, dedicated staff, inspiring leaders, and tireless volunteers. Your unwavering commitment, generosity of spirit, and servant-hearted attitude have made an incredible difference in our church community.

To the church council, thank you for your wise guidance and steadfast leadership throughout the year. Your thoughtful decisions and prayerful discernment have helped us navigate challenges and pursue our shared vision with clarity and purpose.

To our staff, your hard work behind the scenes has kept everything running smoothly. Whether organising events, preparing worship, or providing support during the week, your efforts often go unseen but are deeply appreciated by all.

To our leaders—those who have led ministries, Bible studies, youth groups, worship teams, and so much more—thank you for stepping up and inspiring others. Your passion and dedication have encouraged spiritual growth and fostered genuine connection within our congregation.

And to our wonderful volunteers, your willingness to give your time and talents is truly the heartbeat of our church. From welcoming newcomers, serving in children’s ministry, setting up morning tea, or lending a helping hand wherever needed, you embody the love and service of Christ in all you do.

Together, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness in so many ways this year. The School breakfasts on Wednesday mornings, the water baptisms, Alpha, our special Easter services, Mother’s day and Father’s day services, the welcome of our new Associate Pastor, the school voting day BBQ and Fete, the community engagement initiatives, the commencement of our first teaching service, ( are you ready for His return), increased financial giving, new families that are now calling CVC home, all this and more we give God thanks.

I am reminded of the scripture that says, Psalm 16:6, “ Surely the boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, surely I have a delightful inheritance”

Thank you all for your unique contributions—large and small—that have made Camden Valley Church such a warm, welcoming, and vibrant community. May we continue to serve together with joy and anticipation for the year ahead.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Jeremy

Youth Ministry

This year has been another rewarding year in youth ministry.
We have continued to run this ministry fortnightly during church as well as additional youth events held throughout the year.  Our approach to this ministry has remained focussed on fun,  fellowship, conversation and most importantly discipleship.

This year we have been encouraging the young people into service. A number of young people are now involved throughout serving opportunities within our church as well as outside of the church community. As our young people grow, our teaching has also developed in complexity to support their maturing faith journey.

A highlight for this year has been one of our young people enthusiastically preparing and presenting a study with the group, demonstrating their desire to support their peers in growing their faith. Our youth group has also been blessed with growth this year, with new young people attending our events and Sunday youth ministry.

In addition, we have been working towards integrating the year 6 cohort into the youth program. This has involved giving them an opportunity to attend once per term (in term 1-3) and for the entirety of term 4. They are a welcome addition to our small group and the young people have been encouraged to make them feel included and support their growing faith.

Toddlers

This year has brought faithful service from our team leaders to the youngest members of our church community which continues to grow.

A special thank you to Zac Gorton, Faith Chamberlain, Jeremy Hodson, and their families who have diligently given of themselves to make this program a success.
