Its almost upon us again - Camden Show is on this weekend. To help celebrate all things country and Camden, you are invited to wear your Akubra, Stanton, Stetson or similar head piece to the 10am service on the 17th. 

In this week's newletter we announce 2 new Teaching Series that will start in terms 2 and 3. Also we have a report on last year's Operation Christmas Child.

We welcomed the Hutchings family (Steve, Natalie, Elyse, Daniel and Owen) back to Camden in our service nearly a fortnight ago and were able, with your help, to give them a start with their weekly shop.

Easter Friday this year will be a special time at our church with Bob Mendelsohn from Jews for Jesus giving us a presentation about the Passover Meal. He will have it laid out on a table and will describe all the items involved, their preparation and what they represent.

Then on Easter Sunday we will be celebrating with an in-depth look at the Lord's Supper with Jeremy.

We have received thanks from Samaritan’s Purse for our contribution to Operations Christmas Child last year. Well done and thanks, CVC!

‘God did extraordinary things around the world through Operation Christmas Child in 2023!

We praise Him that 11.3 million shoeboxes were packed worldwide during last year's collection season. That means millions of children will now hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be discipled in 2024!

We are grateful for your partnership through faithful prayers, packed boxes, volunteer hours, and other support. Let's continue to “declare His glory among the nations” (Psalm 96:3).”

CV Church is planning to Host a 9 week series on the End Times. It will be delivered by Zoom on a Wednesday evening 8-9pm, an interactive teaching series with a guest speaker, Pastor Jeremy Griffiths, a former Principal of Commonwealth Bible College.

The plan is to have an in-depth look at 9 passages of scripture that have an eschatological theme.

You can gather in homes together or do it on your own.

The fee is $100 per family to offset the costs of hosting Jeremy Griffiths.

The 9 Lessons comprise:

1. “Get Ready” Parable of the 10 virgins

2. ”Get Busy” Parable of the talents

3. “Signs of the Times” connecting Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Revelation 6

4. “Where does Israel fit in? Matt. 23:37-39

• A deeper understanding of the significance and events surrounding Easter and the hope it gives us.
• Healing and recovery for congregation members sick or recovering from surgery.
• Warring parties around our world particularly in the Ukraine and Gaza.
  In the Ukraine more than 10 million people have been uprooted from their homes.
  In Gaza pray for greater success in food aid getting to those in need. 
• Steve and Natalie Hutchings and family as they furlough back in Australia.
• Australia's aid contributions to our neighboring countries..
• The people and agencies around the world responding to humanitarian crises.
• An increase in justice and compassion in many needy places in the world and a reduction in poverty.
• Albert and Lynne Castelijn as they continue their ministry to the Banwaon people.
• Safety on our roads over the Easter period.
• Wisdom and guidance for our church and our leaders and also for our State and Federal leaders.

Our next Big Day In is on June 30. This will be our early Christmas in July.

CV Church, in partnership with Exploring Tree, is planning to host the Alpha program.

The Alpha course is an evangelistic course which seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions. It is described by its organisers as "an opportunity to explore the meaning of life".

The course will be run in third term on Sunday evenings 5pm, at Exploring Tree Macarthur.

The evening is designed around a dinner meal, video and discussion.

A childminding program will be available and the youth Alpha series of videos will be run as well.
