Recycling Drop Off & ReSmart Service
Council hosts a FREE recycling drop event twice a year. Come along and drop off your:
Bulky cardboard (clean and flattened)
Polystyrene (not accepted in the yellow recycling bin)
Textiles - clothing, blankets, pillows plus shoes, bags and toys
Electronic waste (e-waste) - all domestic electrical items except whitegoods such as fridges, washing machines, dryers
Date: Saturday 18 July 2026
Time: 9am-3pm
Location: Council’s Works Depot, 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan
Also, it’s a great thing to go to Camden Council website to sign up for ReSmart (previously RecycleSmart) – a home collection service for hard to recycle items, including the soft plastic that you cannot avoid. https://www.camden.nsw.gov.au/waste/resmart-formerly-recyclesmart
Some supermarkets have now reinstated their soft plastic collection bins.
Plastic Free July
CVC Tearfund Action Group (TAG) invites you to participate in the Plastic Free July Challenge. Individuals and families are encouraged to consider their use of plastic and say no to using single-use plastics in July to have a positive effect on our environment. Baskets for Mother Hubbard's Cupboard
Many thanks to those who responded to the recent request for donations of items to baskets of kitchen and laundry items. The baskets will be given to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard who will pass them on to victims of domestic violence or people who have experienced homelessness, as they are being relocated into a new home.
Only a few more items are needed to complete 3 extra baskets per month. Donations of 3 of any of the following items per month would be appreciated:
Laundry baskets - $3 at Big W
Wondersoap bar
Dustpan and brush - $2 at Bunnings
Multi-purpose Cleaner – green brand would be great eg. Bostitos
Tissues
Cooler bag for groceries – purchased at the counter of a supermarket
